It Reminds me the map you use in Most 2D Metroids (Super Metroid, Metroid Zero Mission) as if you haven't (Mapped) them.

Hmm...I'm going to be honest here...

I like what you're thinking, but if you can, definitely decrease the brightness of each dot.
It's distracting for someone with ADHD, like myself.
